Client-facing and back office Support staff play a key role in service delivery whether they are employed in house or outsourced. Depending on how they are managed they can either improve a firm’s risk profile or have an adverse impact on it.
Support staff in law firms should have an awareness of the 7 Principles plus certain key requirements in the Code of Conduct for Solicitors, such as those on confidentiality. They should also understand something of the roles undertaken by COLPs and COFAs and know who holds these roles in their firm. Some basic training should be given to support staff at induction and thereafter as regulations change.
When it comes to managing risk and compliance, under-value them at your peril.
Let us help train this key part of your workforce.
